SHELBY- Mrs. Willie Mae “Violet” Hopper, 81, formerly of Shelby Manor, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late William Walker and Sarah Ann Margaret Padgett Millwood. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jonas Austin Hopper; a daughter, Marsha Ann Hopper; five brothers; and a sister.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Steve Hopper of Gaffney, SC; and two daughters, Carol Condrey and husband, Roger, of Grover and Debbie Dover and husband, Tommy, of Shelby; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2007 an hour prior to the service at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Debbie Dover.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
