William Roy Weathers

GASTONIA – Mr. William “Roy” Weathers, 94, formerly of Shelby, died Tues., Dec. 11, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edgar and Vina Jane Stewart Weathers. He retired as a Shelby mail carrier.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Weathers.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his two sons, Donald L. Weathers and wife Patricia of Newton, and Bobby Weathers and wife Carol of GA.; four daughters, Shelby Robertson and husband Tommy of GA., Pat Ellis and husband Don of Gastonia, Betty Ellis and husband David, and Kathy Barcliff and husband Ben, all of Shelby; three sisters, Lala Yount of Newton, Lola Humphries, and Ruth Hawkins and husband Yates, all of Shelby; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great- grandchildren.

SERVICES: Saturday, 11am, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
