Virginia E. Church

SHELBY- Ms. Virginia Head Church, 85, of 1404 N. Lafayette St., died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late E.D. and Etta Whistnant Head. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Shelby.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Church; and three brothers, Glen H. Head, J.C. Head and Clyde Head.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a sister-in-law, Nell Head- Hooper of Bostic; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and step grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at New Bethel Church of Shelby.

LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Revs. Reed Jones, and Wade Wallace, Bobby Smith
