Vickey K. Capps, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Cleveland County at the age of 66. Born on September 14, 1959, in Jackson County, Vickey brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered throughout her life.

Her life was a testament to the love she had for her family. Vickey cherished every moment spent with her daughter, Kim Harvley (Trent), along with her adored grandchildren, Colton and Abigail Harvley. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in their presence.

Vickey's interests were simple yet profound. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, and exploring yard sales, always finding treasures and creating memories. Her laughter and spirit were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Nicholson, and her nephew, Jonathan Nicholson. Vickey leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her devoted mother, Betty Sue Nicholson; her sisters, Judy and husband Jeff, and Pam and husband Josh; her brother, Harold; and her nephews, Brad Spencer, Adam Nicholson, and Matthew Nicholson.

A family gathering to celebrate Vickey's life will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 12 PM at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain. The family extends special thanks to Freddy, Nikki, Ciji, Becky, VIA Health Partners, and Wendover Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
