Vernie Bolton

SHELBY- Mrs. Vernie Hamrick Bolton, 97, of 125 Davis Rd., died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Century Care of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Hamrick and Ida Humphries Hamrick. She was a retired caregiver and was the oldest member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Bolton, two sons, J.B. Bolton and Clinton “Clint” Bolton and her daughter, Frances Wilson.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her son, Don Bolton and his wife, Melvin, of Shelby; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one great- great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Rev. Broadus Heatherly will be officiating.
