SHELBY-Vera Blackwell Cunningham, 99, of Cabaniss Dr., died Mon., Oct. 27, 2014, at her home. A native of Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Hattie Distler Blackwell. Vera was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of WMU and an avid Braves fan.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.T. Cunningham; 13 brothers and sisters.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her special daughter and caregiver, JoAnn Lankford and husband Johnny of Shelby; cousin, Miles Nelson and wife Connie of Greenville, SC; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sarah Tidwell and Alta Parnell, both of Shelby.


FUNERAL SERVICES: Thursday, 11a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, at the funeral home

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park

CLERGY: Rev. Tony Tench
