SHELBY: Tony Del Wallace, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Cleveland County, NC, at the age of 84. He was born on August 14, 1940, in York County, SC, to the late Johnny Wallace and Beatrice Camp.
A proud veteran, Tony served his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Army and later the National Guard. After his service, he became a cherished fixture in the community as the owner and operator of Tony's Pizza and Sub in Boiling Springs, renowned for its unique Livermush pizza.
Tony was an avid golfer who spent many joyful hours at the city park, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers. His faith was a vital part of his life, and he was an active member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wallace; mother, Beatrice Camp; and father-in-law, Ben H. Kiser.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Kay Wallace, whom he married on August 30, 1986. His loving family includes son Ray Edward Crotts II and wife E.J.; daughters Angela Kay Sams and husband Tony, and Toni Kim Alexander and partner Wayne. Tony was a proud grandfather to Kailee Crotts, Dylan Crotts (Airie), Austin Crotts (Melody), Macie Alexander (Houston Mullinax), David Alexander (Haleigh), Gretta Sams Earnhardt (Austin), Vanna Reeves (Jarrod), Joy Elizabeth Alexander Davis, Eric Alexander and Garrett Alexander (Dana), and a cherished great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by special brothers-in-law, David Kiser, and special friends, dog Sugar, and cat Scooby.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tony's life at 2:00pm Wednesday May 21, 2025 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home officiated by Pastor David Costner and Dr. Aubrey Folk. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service. Following the service, Tony will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery.
Tony Del Wallace leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
