SHELBY- Mrs. Thelma Grigg Kennedy, 87, of 302-5 Pinkney Street, passed away quietly to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Elsie and Laura Ledford Grigg. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and worked at Cleveland Cloth Mill for many years.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlen “Noah” Kennedy; and two brothers, Gene and Ronnie Grigg.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her son, Woody Kennedy, and wife, Nancy of Shelby; granddaughter, Laura Ashley Rinehart and husband Dr. Chad, and great grand daughter Mary Emma Rinehart, all of Asheville.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, December 5, from 1-2pm at Bethel Baptist Church

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held Friday, December 5, 2pm at Bethel Baptist Church

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Dr. Tim Sims will be officiating
