Steve Fortenberry

SHELBY- Mr. Steve Ray Fortenberry, 67, of 216 College Ave., died Tues., July 17, 2012. A native of Cleveland Co. he was the son of the late Clevie and Ruby Roberts Fortenberry. Steve was an avid gardener, loved to hunt and fish, and had a passion for singing karaoke. He served in the Air Force.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Fortenberry, Carolyn Davidson, and Connie McCain.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce Patterson Fortenberry of the home; son, Daniel Fortenberry of Shelby; three sisters, Fay Kidd of Shelby, Janette Costner and husband Jerry of Taylors, SC, Judy Ross and husband Claude of Fallston; three brothers, Joe Fortenberry and wife Linda of Grover, Marvin Fortenberry and wife Catherine, and Keith Fortenberry and wife Shirley, all of Shelby.

SERVICES: 2pm, Friday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 12:30 to 2pm, at the funeral home, and other times at his home.
