Shirley Jo Strickland

Shirley Kiser Strickland, 80, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Testa Family Hospice House. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Ralph and Junie Collins Kiser. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class. She had a great love for her church, family and grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Testa Family Hospice House.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Strickland; sisters, Betty Whisnant and Hazel Allen; and brothers, Ralph Kiser, Jr., Lloyd Kiser and Bill Kiser.



She is survived by her son John Strickland and wife Sharon of Shelby; daughters June Bennett and Husband John Mark of Forest City and Jill Eaton and husband Chris of Shelby; brother Ben Kiser of Shelby; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Meredith and Matthew Bennett, Hannah, Seth and Gracie Strickland, and Casey and Haley Johnson.




The family will receive friends Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 3-5:00 PM at the funeral home



Funeral services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12 noon at Bethel Baptist Church.



Dr. Timothy Sims is officiating



Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the service.
