Sherenna Marie Drawdy came into this world on May 25, 1985, in Gastonia, and she walked into the arms of the Lord on April 3, 2026, at the age of 40. She was a woman of deep resilience, a mother of great heart, and a soul who truly understood the meaning of perseverance.
Sherenna was a hard worker. She spent her years in the manufacturing industry, putting in the hours and embodying the spirit of a provider. She wasn’t someone who sat back; she was a woman of action who met life’s hurdles with a grit and grace that you just don't see every day. She was known for being outspoken and standing her ground, but everything she did was rooted in her commitment to her family and her faith.
To her children and grandchildren, she was more than just a relative—she was their foundation. They called her "the best Gigi in the world," and she earned that title every day with her warm spirit and her joyful nature. Whether she was in the kitchen cooking for her loved ones, working on her latest interior design project, or just enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, she brought a vibrant energy to everything she touched. We will always remember her stunning green eyes and her favorite shade of yellow, a color that matched her bright personality.
Perhaps the most powerful part of Sherenna’s journey was her walk with God through recovery. She faced the struggle of addiction head-on and, through her faith, emerged into a life of sobriety and purpose. She didn’t just talk about change; she lived it. Her journey stands as a testament to the fact that with God, all things are possible, and her strength remains an inspiration to us all.
Sherenna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Hughes and Great Aunt, Peggy Sue Greene. Proceeded by, her mother, Anna Cook, her aunt Angela Skidmore and her brothers, Tiger Hannon, Joshua Drawdy, and Matt Fuller, and her sisters, Monica Drawdy, and Tosha Bagette. She leaves her legacy to be carried on by her significant other, Gregory Rice; her five children, Jayrhen Burris, Jayden Burris, Jerrand Burris Jr., Brianna Burris, and Arissa Burris; her ten cherished grandchildren ; Jesselyn A. Burris, Leineer Burris, Kambria, Keshawn Jr., Kywaun, and Kelyn Massey, Dredyn, Drevion, Quashine, and Isaiah, and her best friends, Quantavian Spencer and Keisha Smith. Significant others of her children, Aaliyah Byers, Kylee Lawson, and Armoni Melton.
Sherenna lived fully, loved fiercely, and taught us all how to keep going no matter what. We find peace knowing she is resting, and we will keep her spirit alive in everything we do.
“A sassy spirit, a loving heart, and a yellow bird soul that never truly departs."
