Sandra M Hankins

SHELBY - Sandra M. Hankins, born on June 18, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away at the age of 84 on December 13, 2025, in Shelby, North Carolina. Her journey through life was marked by love, creativity, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.

Sandra's life was a testament to the power of family and the joy found in simple pleasures. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest pride was her family. Sandra's heart was vast, and her love knew no bounds. Her legacy is one of unwavering dedication to those she held dear.

Sandra enjoyed arts and crafts and her hands brought beauty into the world through her crochet creations and various arts and crafts. Her artistic gifts were surpassed only by her love of reading, a passion that transported her to worlds beyond her own. Sandra also took delight in the challenge of puzzles and the thrill of computer games, finding joy in their complexities.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Hankins, and her parents, Sandra leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her loving children: Ellen Depalma of Mechanicsburg, PA; Ronald Furlow of Early Branch, SC; Sherri Perkins and her husband Leroy, Jr. of Marion; and David Hankins and his wife Tracy of Shelby; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through them.

In keeping with Sandra's wishes, there will be no services at this time. As we remember Sandra, let us celebrate her life by embracing the love of family
