SHELBY-
Rosemary M. Armour, lovingly known as “Rose, Rosie”, made her final homecoming on March 10th, 2026, in Shelby, North Carolina, at the age of 85. Born in Eunice West Virginia on May 15th, 1940, she graced this world with her generous spirit, loving smile, and caring heart.
Rosemary’s life was deeply enriched by her love for family, friends, and community. She found great joy in sewing, reading a good book, cooking for her family and friends, and she especially loved traveling to Flea Markets to set up with her life-long love Bud. Rosemary enjoyed spending time at the Thompson farm and she was known to be able to make something out of nothing. Her love for cooking and her family brought loved ones together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
A deeply devoted Christian, Rosemary was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone for her life, providing great comfort and peace throughout her days.
Rosemary was the beloved life-long companion of the late Bud Thompson, with whom she shared many wonderful years with. She is also preceded in death by her parents Orville and Hazel Miller, her beloved siblings Boyd Miller and Sarah Mulligan, and granddaughter Joy.
She is survived by her loving children Tommy Armour and his wife April, Larry Armour, Tony Armour and his wife Karen, Terry Armour. John Michael Thompson (& family), Bradley Thompson (& family), Brian Thompson (& family), Mark Thompson (& family); her cherished sisters Nancy Garringer and Julie Armstrong and brother Ricahrd Miller; her beloved grandchildren Luke Armour, Daryl Armour, Elaine, Crystal Armour, Justin Armour (Kayce), Josh Armour (Jennifer) and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy lives on in her dear great-grandchildren Jes and Wes, Ariana and Nia, Sawyer, Ethan, and Blanton, Conri and Teegan, and Lyndi.
Rosemary spent her time as a dedicated employee at Lowe’s from where she later retired. During her time there she created friendships that she cherished for a lifetime. Following her retirement Rosemary spent her time working as the right-hand woman at her son Tony’s automotive shop.
Funeral services to celebrate Rosemary’s remarkable life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Bo Wagner. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A private burial will follow on Friday.
Rosemary will be profoundly missed but will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and the light she brought into many lives. She left behind a legacy that many will cherish for generations.
