SHELBY- Ronald Andrew "Andy" Hardin, born on September 9, 1952, in Cleveland County, NC, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family. Andy lived a life rich with passion and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
From a young age, Andy was drawn to the thrill of dirt track racing and the excitement of NASCAR. A true sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, always eager to catch a game and cheer on his favorite team. His love for music was profound, with a special fondness for bluegrass that resonated deeply with his spirit.
Andy was a cherished member of Dover Baptist, where he found community and solace. His selfless nature and kind heart were evident in every interaction, as he consistently went out of his way to help others. A loving father and grandfather, Andy's family was his pride and joy. He was a role model not only to his daughter, Ashley Clary, and her husband Wesley, but also to his beloved granddaughter Hailey White, who brought immense happiness into his life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ronald "Buck" Hardin and Treva Bridges Wright, and his brother Rick Hardin, Andy is survived by his sister Deb Hardin, who remained a steadfast companion throughout his life. His extended family, including Chad Sneed, Christy Roberson and her husband Bo, Wade, Riley, Logan, Abby, Isaac, Rebecca, and Maddox, will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
A celebration of Andy's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service to honor his memory and the remarkable legacy he leaves behind. Following the service, Andy will be laid to rest at Cleveland Memorial Park.
Andy Hardin was a beacon of love and generosity, whose spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of kindness and compassion endures, reminding us all of the power of a loving heart.
