SHELBY: Robert E. Blanton, born October 18, 1966, departed this life on June 28, 2025, at the age of 58. He leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness, having touched the lives of many with his generous spirit and unwavering loyalty.
Robert was the glue that held his family together, always there to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word. His heart of gold shone brightly in every interaction, making him a beloved friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A man who never met a stranger, he was quick to offer assistance and support, embodying the essence of what it means to be truly selfless.
He cherished the outdoors, finding joy in activities such as fishing, attending rodeos, and watching NASCAR. His love for country and bluegrass music provided a soundtrack to his life, one that resonated with his warm and open nature. Robert's passion for seafood was matched only by the delight he took in sharing meals with loved ones.
Robert's greatest joy came from being an amazing partner, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a protector of those he loved, fiercely loyal and steadfast in his devotion. Throughout life's challenges, he faced each with a smile, setting an example of resilience and grace.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Edna Blanton, his sisters Betty, Carolyn, and Judy, and his great nephew Canaan Bradley, Robert now joins them in eternal rest. He is survived by his loving partner since July 10, 2010, Ann Gustafson, his sister Debra Feairheller, and brother William Blanton. He also leaves behind cherished nieces Christine Blanton, Jennifer Black, Lane Black, and a great niece, Jersey Bradley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home 1401 West Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152, at 12:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, 1401 West Dixon Blvd Shelby, NC 28152.
Robert E. Blanton was loved by many and will be missed beyond measure. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that endures.
