SHELBY- Rev. Roger William Webb, a beacon of faith and love, passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on March 28, 1944, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Roger lived a life filled with joy, service, and inspiration.
Roger’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to the gospel and his community. A retired minister, he spread words of hope and compassion to all who would listen. His deep-rooted passion for the teachings of Christ was matched only by his love for his family and his unwavering belief in the power of kindness.
An alumnus of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Roger's spiritual foundation was strengthened and nourished through his involvement with Boiling Springs Baptist Church. He cherished the fellowship and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around him.
Beyond his ministry, Roger was a man of many passions. He loved fishing and often found peace in nature's embrace. He was skilled in carpentry and enjoyed working on cars, hobbies that reflected his knack for building and fixing with both his hands and his heart. He was also an avid fan of racing, which fueled his adventurous spirit.
Roger's unique blend of wit and warmth made him a beloved figure in his community. Known for his storytelling and outgoing nature, he had the rare gift of making everyone feel like a friend. He was truly a social butterfly, always eager to meet new people and share in their stories.
His legacy is carried forward by those he loved most. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marie Webb of 42 years; his sons, Steven Webb and wife Debbie, Roger Webb Jr. and wife Krista, Jason Webb and significant other Claire Thetford; and his daughters, Tabatha Turner and husband Tim, Angel Webb, Leann Waldron and husband Collin, along with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including his precious "babies," Amelia and Bennett Waldron.
Roger is also survived by his sisters Virginia Causby and husband Jerry, Margaret Henson, Gail Williams and husband Tony, Kathy Moore and husband Ronnie, Connie Hurdt and husband Billy, as well as his special nieces Nita Love and Rita Murray.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Edith Webb, his daughter Gwendolyn Webb, and sister Kaye Saults.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on June 26, 2026, 4:00 PM, at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, led by Rev. Keith McKinney and Keith Dixon. A private graveside service will be held by his family.
Rev. Roger William Webb leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. He was a kind-hearted, loving father and grandfather who always put his family first. His open heart and joyous spirit will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
