BESSEMER CITY- Rebecca Nelson, age 80, passed away peacefully in Gastonia, NC on January 22, 2026. Born in Cleveland, TN on September 19, 1945, Rebecca lived a life full of love and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Rebecca was a devoted member of the Canton Temple of Praise, where she expressed her passion for decorating by beautifully adorning the church for every holiday. Her flair for design extended to her home, which was always impeccably styled with everything meticulously matched, reflecting her eye for detail and elegance.

Her talents in the kitchen were as impressive as her decorating skills. Known for her delicious baked goods, Rebecca’s cookies and pies were a staple at family gatherings and church events, bringing joy and sweet memories to all who tasted them.

Family was the cornerstone of Rebecca’s life. She is survived by her loving sons, Stephen Boston and his wife Gina, and Gregory Boston; her cherished sister, Martha Holcomb, and her loving sister, Lenita Harley and husband Ronald; her beloved grandchild, Jonas Boston; and numerous nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close to their hearts.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mammie Holcomb; her husbands, David Boston and Howard Nelson; her son, Brian Boston; her grandchildren, Madison Boston and Ethan Boston; and her sisters, Lois Pruitt, Louise Griffith, and Fay Griffith.

Rebecca will be laid to rest at a later date in Canton,OH.

Rebecca’s legacy is one of warmth, creativity, and love. Her presence brightened every room and her kindness touched every soul. While her earthly journey has ended, the inspiration and love she shared with those around her will live on forever.
