Rebecca Hamrick Carroll

SHELBY- Rebecca Hamrick Carroll, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, born on December 30, 1944, in Shelby, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on October 14, 2025, at the age of 80.

Affectionately known as "Granny," to her family and friends, she never met a stranger and made everyone feel like they were family. A godly woman, Rebecca lived her life as a testament to her deep love for Jesus. She drew strength and wisdom from reading her Bible and found fulfillment in sharing her faith with others. She made sure everyone she met knew that Jesus loved them.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Rachel Hamrick, her husband Doug Carroll, and her sister Carolyn Poston. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, son Lee Carroll and his wife Angel, and daughter Wendy Morgan. Her grandchildren, Hallie Machak and husband Logan, Ashley Bradshaw and her husband Cameron, Elijah Carroll, Caleb Morgan, and Rachel Curry and husband Sage, will carry forward the lessons and love she instilled in them.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rebecca's life at a funeral service on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Toby Bird. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:30 PM until 4:00 PM in the fellowship hall of the church. Following the service, Rebecca will be laid to rest at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
