SHELBY- Mrs. Pauline Branton, 90, of 210 Ford St., died Monday, August 6, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Bessie Henry Carpenter. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 40 years of service and was a volunteer at the Senior Center. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Harris Branton; her son-in-law, D.L. Cook; and a grandson, Mark Stafford.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Martha Branton Cook of Shelby; six grandchildren, Wanda Stafford and Ann Weaver, both of Shelby, Greg Cook and wife, Angela of Tenn, Brian Cook of Durham and David Cook of Kings Mountain; eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca Butler and husband, Ian, Josh Stafford, Ashley Heffner, Thomas Sides, Jennifer Stafford, Michelle Stafford, Matthew Cook, and Angela Smith; and two great-great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Butler and Logan Butler.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
