Nellie Bumgardner

SHELBY- Mrs. Nellie Pearson Bumgardner, 85, formerly of Hamrick Road, died Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of that late Dock and Mary Scruggs Pearson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bumgardner; a son Jerry Pearson; three brothers, Buford, Doyle, and Bobby Pearson; six sisters, Pauline Rush, Ellen Bradley, Dot Bridges, Daisy Willis, Ruby Byers, and Leona Pearson.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her son, Don Pearson of Nevada; a daughter, Donita Christian and husband, Dan, of Florida; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Friday, February 27, from 6-7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her brother-in-law, Charles Willis, of 102 Stone Street, Shelby 28152.

FUNERAL: Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 11 am at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

INTERMENT: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: The Rev. Dan Wallace will be officiating
