Narcisco Nieves, born on October 29, 1939, in the vibrant town of Ponce, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Cleveland County at the age of 86. His journey through life was marked by a deep love for his family, a passion for sports, and an unwavering Latino spirit that inspired those around him.

Narcisco's heart found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in gathering with loved ones to watch Sunday football. He was an ardent supporter of the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bears, and the Carolina Panthers, teams that fueled his enthusiasm and provided cherished moments of camaraderie with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn Nieves in 2015, his precious daughter, Jacqueline Nieves, and his siblings Martha Rodriguez, Felita Sanchez, Maria Fernandez, Olga Nieves, and Luis Nieves. Their memories live on in the stories he shared and the legacy he leaves behind.

Narcisco's spirit continues to shine through his surviving family: sons Jeffery Nieves (Jerry Pearce) of Arizona and Francisco Nieves of Tennessee; daughters Felicia Nieves of Tennessee and Kimberly Burke of Missouri, sisters Irma Lopez, Maggie Melecio, Iris Nieves, and Inez Habecost; brothers Joseph Nieves and Angel Nieves; and his cherished grandchildren Nevaeh Nieves, Kylie Clark, and Caiden Nieves. His presence will be dearly missed by several nieces and nephews who were touched by his kindness and warmth. He is also survived by a special friend April Poirier.

Although no services are immediately planned, a celebration of Narcisco's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man he was.

Narcisco Nieves lived a life full of love, laughter, and resilience. His legacy is one of strength and dedication to family, and his memory will forever inspire those who knew him.

Narcisco’s children would like to acknowledge their cousins Martha & Felix Ortega and Ramona & Louis Rangel for the love and support of their father over the years. Narcisco loved visits with his nieces and was very appreciative of the home-cooked Puerto Rican feasts that they would create.

The family would also like to acknowledge the staff at TerraBella Senior Living in Shelby and the staff at Hopscotch Primary Care in Shelby for their compassionate dedication and care of their father.

Services are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center of Shelby www.claybarnette.com
