SHELBY-Mike “Phat Bak” Blanton, 49, died Mon., June 9, 2014, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of Tommy Blanton and wife Linda of Shelby, and Judy Morris and husband Roger of Cliffside. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
SURVIVED: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Matthew Tyler Blanton; daughter, Brittany Ryan Blanton, both of Shelby; girlfriend, Debbie Duvall of Forest City; brothers, Richard Donald McGinnis, Terry Scott McGinnis and wife Chris, all of Boiling Springs, and James Bolton and wife Wanda; grandson, Carter Shane Alcantra.
SERVICES: Thursday, 2PM, at Flint Hill Baptist Church
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-7:30PM, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
CLERGY: Rev. Shane Kirby
MEMORIALS: To help defray expense, memorials may be made to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, 1401 W. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28152
