Mary Sue Brown

Mary Sue Brown, 83, of 532 West Craighead Road, Apt. D, formerly of Shelby, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at her residence. A native of Cleveland County, she was born September 15, 1930, daughter of the late Roland L. and Ola Alexander Brown. She retired from Consolidated Freightways and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Charlotte. She was a special aunt who loved her family very much and she was loved by all who knew her.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Shirley Brown; two nephews, Robert and Kenneth Brown.

SURVIVED: She is survived by, six nephews, Bill brown and wife Marie of Gastonia, Charles “Eddie” Brown of Jacksonville, FL, David Brown and wife Janet and Scott Brown all of Shelby, Richard Brown of Fallston, Mark Brown of Bessemer City; one niece, Melanie Shull and husband Dennis of Shelby; three great Nieces, Emily Brown and husband Chris McConville of Rock Hill, SC, Hetty Scopel and husband Steven of Greensboro NC, Jaci Brown of Bessemer City; eight Great nephews, Patrick Brown of Wilmington, NC, Daniel Brown and wife Jessica of Idlewylde, MD, Ryan Brown and wife Abby of Norton Shores, MI, Christopher Shull and wife Lacey of Shelby, Kevin Brown and wife Whitney of Bryson City, NC, Corey Shull of Cullowhee, NC, Joshua Brown of Sylva, NC, and Mitchell Brown of Bessemer City; great-great nieces, Hetty Isabella Scopel of Greensboro, NC, Addison Ranae Mitchell of Bryson City, NC; two special cats, Gretchen and Gracie.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Charlotte and a graveside service will be held 3:30 pm Saturday at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends after the memorial service and the graveside service.

CLERGY: Rev. Jonathan Coppedge-Henley.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.

MEMORIALS: memorials mat be made to First United Methodist Church, Mission Fund, 501 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202 or the donor’s choice.
