MOORESBORO- Marshall Clangman Stiles, born on November 4, 1937, in Murphy, North Carolina, departed this world on August 22, 2026, in Mooresboro, North Carolina, at the age of 88. His was a life marked by dedication and a steadfast love for both his family and his faith.

Marshall's journey began in the quiet town of Murphy, where he learned the value of hard work and simple pleasures. As a young man, he became an avid hunter, embracing the great outdoors with enthusiasm and skill. Later in life, he discovered a passion for gardening, cultivating not only plants but also a sense of peace and contentment.

For over 45 years, Marshall served as a tanker driver, demonstrating unwavering commitment and reliability. He took pride in his work and found joy in the everyday routine that it brought. His love for a good Burger King burger was well-known, a simple pleasure that brought him great delight.

A man of deep faith, Marshall read his Bible daily, finding guidance and solace in its pages. He attended Cliffside Baptist Church, where his presence and spirit were cherished by all who knew him.

Marshall was a shade tree mechanic, always ready to lend a hand and share his knowledge with anyone in need. His ability to find fulfillment in life's simplicity was an inspiration to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ethel Stiles, their infant son, David Alden Stiles, and his brothers, Neal and Clinton Stiles. The thought of Marshall and Ethel being reunited brings comfort to those who loved them.

Marshall leaves behind a legacy of love in his surviving family. His children, Michael Stiles and wife Jennifer of Mooresboro, Bryan Stiles and wife Roxanne of Shelby, and Donna Justice and husband Roger of Shelby, carry forward his values and spirit.His grandchildren, Kristi Stiles and Jake Johnson, Alan Justice and wife Christy, and Anthony Stiles, along with his great-grandchildren, Marshall Alan Justice, David Justice and Ellie Ethel Stiles, were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and joys.

His sister, Elaine Sullivan and husband David of Roanoke, VA, and brother, Gilbert Stiles of Robbinsville, continue to cherish his memory.

Family and friends are invited to honor Marshall's life at a graveside service on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. A visitation will follow in Sorrells Hall within the church.
