Margaret Lucille Murray

SHELBY — Margaret Murray, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at Wendover Hospice.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born to the late George and Kathleen Hamrick Lancaster.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She was retired from Grover Industries.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Clayton Murray; two infant children; son Alexander Gettys Murray; and brothers Melvin and Dan Lancaster.
She is survived by her son, Joe Murray and wife Patricia of Shelby; daughters, Kathleen Murray of Boiling Springs and Ann Dial and husband James of Blacksburg, SC; sister Evelyn Lancaster of Shelby; brothers, Weldon Lancaster and wife Gladys of Shelby and William “Bill” Lancaster of Gaffney, SC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Welch officiating.
