Marcy Smith

SHELBY-Marcy Laster Smith,70, died Wednesday, October 13,2021, at Carolina Continue Care of Charlotte. Born in Cook County, Illinois, she was the daughter of William Romero and Marilyn Cohen. Marcy was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed the holidays. She was a strong woman who fought hard throughout her illness and she was a glamours classy lady who took pride in her beauty. She is survived by her sons, Nicholas Casey of Shelby and Phillip Smith and wife Tammy of Shelby; daughter, Shannon Champion and husband Scott of Shelby; sisters, Bonni Breen of Lake Forest, Illinois, Randi Hofmann of Boulder, Colorado, and Amanda Holt of Wylie, TX; brother, Jeffery Laster of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Weston Champion, Halle Champion, and Mille Champion. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Friday, October 15,2021, in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friend following the service in the Cemetery.
