SHELBY - Marcia Laura Davis, born on February 17, 1951, in Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, at the age of 74.

Marcia dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse, where she worked tirelessly and with

great compassion in the healthcare field. Nursing was her calling, and through her hard work, she touched countless lives, both within her family and her community. Her unwavering commitment to her profession and her loved ones was truly inspirational.

Known for her candid nature, Marcia had a way of speaking her mind that was refreshingly honest. She often reminded others with her favorite sayings: "How's that working for you?" and “It’s no fun when the rabbit has the gun.” These phrases encapsulated her straightforward yet humorous approach to life.

Beyond her professional achievements, Marcia was a creative soul who found joy in sewing, knitting, and completing puzzles. Her artistry and attention to detail were evident in every piece she created, leaving a legacy of love and warmth stitched into the fabric of her family's history.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Harmon and Effie Black, her first husband, Charles Pannell Sr., her second husband, Darius Davis, her brothers, Charles Harmon II, Theodore Harmon, Wade Harmon, Paul Harmon, Carlton Harmon, and her sister, Carolyn White.

She leaves behind a family that will continue to cherish her memory: her beloved children, son Charles Pannell jr, and daughter, Pamela Akins;

her sisters; Charlene Harmon;Anna White and husband Leon White; Cheryl Rodriguez and husband Elois Rodriguez; Marian Robinson and husband Vincent Robinson; her brother, William Harmon; her grandchildren, Kyren Akins, Bria Akins, Jason Fowlkes, Zakya Israel, Zakevia Israel, and Zion Israel; and her great-grandchild, Mashia. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends who were like family to her.

Marcia’s legacy of service, creativity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. A service to honor her remarkable life will be announced at a later date.

In our hearts, Marcia will always be remembered as a beacon of strength, love, and dedication. Her life was a testament to the power of caring and creativity, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
