Louise Wheelus

SHELBY- Louise Wheelus, 88, of Shelby, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland county, she was born March 29, 1926, daughter of the late Clayton Melton and Georgia Tanner Hoopaugh. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a volunteer at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. She loved yard sales and Reese Cups.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Calvin Wheelus; two sisters, Sarah Martin and Wreatha McSwain.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one son, James Darrell Wheelus and wife Joanne of Greensboro; one daughter, Teresa Wheelus-Slaughter of Atlanta Ga.; nephew, Steve Martin and wife Gilda of Shelby.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

CLERGY: Revs. Mike Frazier and Buddy Morehead will officiate.

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park
