Lorene Vess Roberts

SHELBY-Lorene Vess Roberts, 82, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of late Van Buren and Sarah Dodson Lee. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from customer service at First National Bank.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Worth Vess; second husband, Fred Roberts; sister, Geneva Scruggs; and brother, Howard Lee

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Steve Vess and wife Pam of Charlotte; sister Judy Lee of Shelby; brother, Billy Lee and wife Charlene of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Chris Vess and wife Agata of Marvin, Nathan Vess and wife Casey of Gastonia, and Ashely Chase and husband Andrew of Durham; great-grandchildren, Zach, Mya, and Lilly Vess

FUNERAL SERVICES: 6:30pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery, 2pm, Tuesday
