GAFFNEY- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lisa Ann Ponder, a loving, dedicated, and beautiful soul, who left this world on December 1, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on March 9, 1977, in Elizabethtown, KY, Lisa lived a life filled with love, devotion, and resilience. She passed away surrounded by her children and the love of her life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Lisa found immense joy in keeping a home for her family, where love was always the centerpiece. Her life was a testament to the power of nurturing and dedication, and she took great pride in being a mom and a wife, roles she embraced wholeheartedly. Her heart was fullest when she was being "MiMi" to her cherished grandchildren, Valina Bernice Angel and Julian Cruz Ponder, whom she adored beyond measure.
Though she had a passion for watching baking shows, Lisa humorously avoided baking herself, instead finding solace in the art of crocheting and the tranquility of the mountains. These interests were simple yet profound, reflecting her appreciation for life's quiet pleasures and her ability to find beauty in every moment.
Preceded in death by her father, Harold Dean Keown, and sister, Donna Sue Keown, Lisa's memory will be lovingly honored by those who survive her, including her devoted husband of 28 years, Michael Ponder, she was his whole world. Everything he did, he did for her. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating a haven for their children, Taylor Brooke Ponder, Amber Michele Ponder, and Shon William Ponder. Lisa also leaves behind her mother, Carolyn June Keown, and her precious niece Morgan Alexis Kiser.
Lisa's strength and spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a fighter until the end, facing life's challenges with grace and courage. Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, holding them close in their hearts as they continue to feel her presence in each new day.
Though she is no longer with us, Lisa Ann Ponder’s enduring love and spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, woven with threads of joy, resilience, and unwavering dedication. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
