It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Skimmiehorn Wilkins, age 63, who entered eternal rest on April 27, 2026, at Windover Hospice House. Linda was born on July 4, 1962, in Fayetteville, to the late Harlon and Seglinda Skimmiehorn.
Linda was a loving mother, devoted nana, and cherished “Nana Sue.” Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and “Nana Sue,” a role she embraced with deep love and pride. She lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and determination, fighting hard through many challenges while continuing to love her family in the ways that mattered most. Her presence and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Gretchen Skimmiehorn and Megan Daves; her grandson, Benjamin Eaker III; and her brothers, Ralf and Ben Skimmiehorn.
Linda leaves behind a family who loved her deeply, including her devoted daughter, Amanda “Mandy”, of the home; her husband Robert Wilkins; and her cherished grandchildren: Dylan “Dilly” (Emily) Eaker of Charleston, Blade “Bay Bay” (Gracie) Murray, Kayden “KK” (Emma) Murray of the home, Michael “lil Man” (Madelyn) Ellis, Matti “Lil Munchkin”(Cody) Church, Abbi “Tiny dancer” (Nick) Church, and Amelia “Kali” Hopper.
She is also survived by her brothers, Joe (Donna) Skimmiehorn and Steven Skimmiehorn, both of Fayetteville; many nieces and nephews; her special brother and sister, Walt and Debbie Holmes; her “daughter in heart,” Candace Babb; and her beloved fur babies, Charlie, Milo, and Blu.
Linda’s life was not without hardship, but it was filled with love, connection, and perseverance. She leaves behind lasting memories that will continue through her family—through shared stories, laughter, and the deep bonds she helped create.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
