Lewis E. Patrie, M.D. born 1928, died October 19, 2024 at age 96. A memorial service is tentatively planned for June 14, 2025, at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville. Born in Albany, New York. Grew up in Castleton on Hudson, NY. Majority of career spent serving the Indian Health Service in Arizona, South Dakota, Montana and Oklahoma. Later career in mental health in Greensboro and Asheville. He retired on the cusp of the millennium and spent retirement working for Nuclear Peace, swimming and traveling with the love of his life, Jeanne Patrie. They moved to Givens Estates in 2015. She died in 2021. He has been there and cared for by his devoted daughter Lynn Patrie.

He is survived by his children, Mark Patrie, Keith Prairie, Lynn Patrie, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Unitarian Universalist Church of Asheville, Western North Carolina Physicians for Social Responsibility, or Manna Food Bank

The Celebration of Life for Lew Patrie will be at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville, 1 Edwin Place Asheville.

The Service will be at 11 am on June 14th.
