Larry Alan Lane

SHELBY: Larry Alan Lane, born on December 4, 1955, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, completed his earthly journey on September 2, 2025, at the age of 69. A lifelong resident of Cleveland County, Larry was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Larry dedicated much of his professional life to Reliance Electric, where he worked diligently as a machine operator until his retirement in 2021. In addition to his vocation, he pursued an education, earning an associate's degree in education, reflecting his commitment to personal growth and learning.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Larry was an ardent supporter of the Carolina Tarheels, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Boston Red Sox. His love for sports extended beyond spectating, as he actively played baseball for four years during his time at Charleston College. Those who knew Larry remember him as a selfless individual who cherished his home life and the simple pleasures it afforded.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Lane and Barbara Graham, his brother, Chip Lane, and grandparents Paul Brooks "Pop" and Modena Brooks "Denaie", Larry's legacy lives on through his surviving family. He is lovingly remembered by his brother Rocky Lane and his wife Sheila; nephews Rock Lane and his wife Mandy, and Preston Lane; his aunt Paula Knisley and her husband Clyde; a great-niece, Gemma; and his sister-in-law Laurel Kelly and her husband Mike.

Larry's quiet strength and generous spirit will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memory will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
