Larry
Armour
May 14, 1961 — Jun 19, 2026
SHELBY- Larry Armour, born on May 14, 1961, in the hustle and bustle of Chicago, Illinois, peacefully clocked out for the final time at home on June 19, 2026. At the age of 65, Larry decided it was time to catch the ultimate fish in the great beyond.
A master of welding and fabrication by trade, Larry spent his days turning metal into masterpieces, though he often claimed his true artistry was perfected in the digital fields of Farmville. When he wasn't busy creating sparks or harvesting virtual crops, Larry could be found fishing with his brother Tommy, serenely sitting on the porch, or engaging in one of his most cherished pastimes—complaining.
A man of many tunes, Larry's love for music was as deep as his well-practiced eye roll when anyone dared to mention politics. He served his country proudly in the Army, where he developed a fondness for structure that never quite translated to his sock drawer.
Larry's love for his family was as expansive as his collection of fishing lures. He leaves behind a tapestry of loved ones: his son, Eric Armour; daughters, Crystal Armour and Amy Armour; brothers, Tommy Armour and wife April, Tony Armour and wife Karen, and Terry Armour. His grandchildren, Jessica Strader, Wesley Schuner, Cole Allen, and Ryker Lee, will miss their granddad's witty wisdom and uncanny ability to find a fishing hole anywhere. His nephews, Justin and Josh Armour, and his beloved great-niece Lyndi Armour, who had a special place in his heart, will remember him with love and laughter.
Larry is reunited with his parents, Bobby and Rosemary Armour, who are surely welcoming him with open arms and perhaps a playlist of his favorite tunes.
In true Larry fashion, the family will honor him with a private service, ensuring that his departure is just as personal and understated as his life was boldly lived. While the world may seem a little less vibrant without Larry gracing it, his spirit lives on in every cast line, every strummed chord, and every affectionate complaint shared among his family and friends.
