Karen Ellen Waldrop

SHELBY Karen Ellen Waldrop, born on April 14, 1947, in Cleveland County, NC, peacefully passed away in the same cherished county on January 2, 2026, at the age of 78. Her life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and inspiration to those who knew her.

Karen devoted much of her professional career to the Financial Company, where she excelled as a loan officer. Her work was not just a job but a testament to her commitment to helping others achieve their dreams. Her colleagues and clients appreciated her integrity and dedication.

Beyond her career, Karen's life was enriched by her deep love for her family and community. She found immense joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Daniel Hogan and his wife Abbie Ashford, Erin Hogan, and Emma Hogan. Her heart was filled with pride and love for each of them, and their laughter was her greatest treasure.

Karen's spirit of kindness extended beyond her family. She loved her neighbors and cherished the times spent together, always eager to share a good laugh and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. A voracious reader, Karen found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books.

Her faith was an anchor throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and spiritual growth.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Henry E. Waldrop and Margaret Jenkins; her brothers Don Waldrop and Richard Waldrop; She leave behind a loving family including her daughters Christie Raduly her husband William Norris, and Brae Hogan and her husband Danny Hogan; her brother Ken Waldrop and his wife Pam Waldrop;her nephews John Waldrop and Henry Waldrop and special friends Gary and MaryAnne Lineberger.

In accordance with Karen's wishes, there will be no services. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Cleveland County, an organization close to Karen's heart.

Karen Ellen Waldrop lived a life full of love, laughter, and compassion. Her legacy is the warmth and joy she brought to those around her, a beacon of inspiration that will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
