SHELBY- J.W. Davis, 86, of 1679 N. Lafayette Street, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was born September 2, 1928, son of the late Joe and Susan Sisk Davis. He was retired as a Mechanic for the City of Shelby.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Katie Lou Davis; one brother, Ervin Davis; one sister, Darcus Irvin.
SURVIVED: He is survived by two sons, Jerry Davis and wife Debbie of Shelby, Joey Davis and Kimberly Putnam of Lawndale; one daughter, Jackie Greene and Ronnie Parker of Shelby; one sister, Dorothy Elmore of Hickory; six grandchildren, Beth Bailes, Shelly Miller, Tammy Greene, Michelle Davis, Dawn Melton, and Wayne Davis; 16 Great Grandchildren; seven Great Great Grandchildren.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Saturday 2pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery
FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
