SHELBY- Joshua Walker, affectionately known to friends and family as "Toot Toot," "Pooh," and "Sasquatch," passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 21. Born on February 9, 2004, in the good old town of Shelby, NC, Joshua was a true original—a different breed of a young man who embodied the spirit of the great outdoors with a rowdy and outgoing nature.
Joshua's heart belonged to the wilderness, where he found peace, adventure, and perhaps most importantly, the freedom to roam bare boot—a testament to his free-spirited love for hunting and fishing. Known for being a talker, Joshua could carry on a conversation with just about anyone, anywhere, anytime. His determination was legendary, as was his ability to make friends at the drop of a hat—or hunting cap, as it were.
Survived by a loving family who adored him beyond measure, Joshua leaves behind his mother, Dela Henson, and her husband David; his father, Josh Walker, and girlfriend Tamara Wilke; his sister, Taylor Jann and her husband Jeremy; his brother, Carson Walker and girlfriend Chloe Bridges; and cherished stepbrother Zach Henson and wife Mia.
His treasured niece and nephew, Hank Jann and Preslee Jann, will always remember him as the fun-loving Uncle Pooh who brought laughter and joy into their lives. Joshua's grandmother, Judy Crump, uncles Shannon White and Keith Crump, and cousin Carter Crump, along with his best friend Silas Hamilton, will all miss his infectious energy and undefeatable spirit.
Joshua is preceded in death by Nana, Marilyn Goins, grandpas Dale Crump, and Dennis Walker. He joins Aunts, Crystal Crump and Shonta Jones, and Great-uncles, Danny Goins and Rodney Goins, on the other side—where surely they are carrying on with stories and adventures of their own.
Services to be held at a later date.
Though his time on earth was short, Joshua "Toot Toot" Walker lived big and loved bigger, leaving a legacy of wild adventures, hearty laughter, and untamed spirit that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. Rest easy, Sasquatch. Your journey was one heck of a ride and you went out with your boots on.
