SHELBY-Johnny Ray Black, 69, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Carolinas Continue Care in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James and Laura Walker Black.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Matril Wilson.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his sons, Johnny Black of Mooresboro, and Donnie Black of Shelby; daughter, Tammy Tessneer and husband Sammy of Mooresboro; sisters, Brenda Eaker of Mooresboro, Norma Weaver and Lynn Barnett, both of Shelby; brothers, Clarence Black and wife Carolyn of Shelby, and Roger Black of Gaffney; grandson and caregiver, Christopher Wilson; granddaughter, Haley Wilson, both of Shelby; and many other extended family.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
MEMORIAL SERVICES: Memorial service will be held 11am, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
