John "J.H." Queen

March 28, 1928 — July 15, 2008

SHELBY- Mr. John Harley Queen, 80, of Limestone, Tenn., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. He was a member and Deacon of the Unity Family Worship Center in Limestone and loved Jesus with his whole heart. John was a native of Shelby, NC and a resident of Limestone for the past 15 years.
Mr. Queen was a wonderful husband and he loved his children and his grandchildren tremendously.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley Clayton and Carrie Queen; his only brother, B.L. Queen; two sisters, Eunice and Pearl Martin.

SURVIVORS: include his loving wife of 60 years, Jerri Queen; one son, Johnny Queen and his wife Bobbie of Charlotte; one daughter, Cyndi Hodge and her husband Chris of Limestone; five grandchildren, Johnny Queen Jr., Mark and Jessika Hodge, Joshua and Michelle Queen; six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Samuel, Kaleigh, William, Kyle and James; one sister, Frances Church; and a very special niece and nephew, Frank and Judy Wray.

VISITATION: Thursday (7/17), from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Thursday (7/17), 3:00 pm in the Clay-Barnette Chapel.

BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Revs. Ralph Forsythe, Chris Hodge, and Billy Boone.

ACTIVE PALLBEARERS: Johnny Queen Jr., Mark Hodge, Joshua Queen, William Beagle, and David Blair.

The family extends a special “Thank You” to the caregivers on the 5400 Wing at The Johnson City Medical Center and also to all of the friends who have supported the family through their prayers and with their sincere love.
