BOILING SPRINGS- Mr. John Al Weddings, 80, of 140 Spring Forest Drive, passed away early Friday morning, August 9, 2013 at Wendover Hospice. A native of Orange County, NC, he was born May 6, 1933, son of the late Henry and Sadie Parker Weddings. He was a loving husband, father and a grandfather to the special apple of his eye, Timothy.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilma Howard Weddings, who passed away earlier this year; five brothers, Ira, Charlie, Morris, William “Doc”, and Jack Weddings; two sisters, Anne Stephenson and Martha Driver.

SURVIVED: He is survived by one daughter in whom he loved very much, Kheresa Harmon and husband Steven of Boiling Springs; one sister, Lou Saunders of Knightdale, NC; one brother, Harry Weddings of Garner, NC and last but not least his one and only grandson, Timothy G. Harmon who is seven years old of Boiling Springs.

SERVICES: A memorial service will held Sunday at 4:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends after the service on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at he and his daughters home in Boiling Springs.

CLERGY: Rev. Dr. Valori Mulvey Sherer will be officiating.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Wendover Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
