Jimmie Lee Jolley, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, in Mecklenburg County at the age of 81. Born on April 1, 1945, in Cleveland County, Jimmie lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
Jimmie proudly served his country as a veteran of the Vietnam War with the United States Army. After his service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career at Milliken Company, where he retired as a respected Supervisor. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on both colleagues and friends.
Jimmie was a man of deep faith and found joy in reading his Bible and singing bass in the church choir. His love for music and his community were evident in his warm, resonant voice that filled the church and uplifted those around him. He also took great pride in maintaining his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in the simple beauty of nature.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Jolley and Helen Callahan Jolley. He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis J. Jolley, of Shelby, NC; his son, Daniel Jolley, and daughter-in-law, Holly, of Boiling Springs, NC; his sister, Freida Jolley Ruppe, and brother-in-law, Jerry, of Bostic, NC; as well as a host of cousins who cherished his kindness and wisdom.
A graveside service to honor Jimmie's life will be held on Monday, April 27th, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched so many lives with his generosity and spirit.
Services are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center of Shelby.
