SHELBY- Mr. Jim Lawson Kendrick, 92, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Augustus Beam and May Turner Kendrick. Jim retired as a Regional Sales Manager after 35 years with Hydgrade Foods. He was a past president of Shelby Lions Club and past Master for Masonic Lodge 202. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Aileen Ledford and Dorothy Lane; and brother Gary B. Kendrick.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mae Downs Kendrick of Charlotte and his daughter Gail K. Thompson and her husband Larry of Charlotte.
SERVICES: Services will be held, Thursday, October 21, 3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
BURIAL: A private family burial will follow immediately after.
