SHELBY: Jeffrey "Jeff" Lee Shoemaker, age 48, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born on January 28, 1977, in the heart of Shelby, Jeff's life was a testament to hard work, love, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.
Jeff spent his formative years in Shelby, where he developed a deep connection to his community and surroundings. He found pride and fulfillment in his work at Hairfield Vault Company, where his strong work ethic and determination made a lasting impact. Known for his big heart and willingness to give the shirt off his back, Jeff was a man who genuinely cared for others. He was the kind of person who meant well in all his endeavors and approached each day with motivation and honesty.
Outside of his professional life, Jeff found joy in the simple pleasures. He loved going out on his boat on the lake, embracing the serenity of nature and the thrill of adventure. Shady Side Dragway was another favorite spot, where he enjoyed the excitement and camaraderie of the races. A visit to Golden Corral was always a delight, as it combined his love for good food with time spent with family and friends. Above all else, Jeff's greatest passion was ensuring that his children were taken care of, a role he embraced with unconditional love and support.
Jeff is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Claudine Nichols Shoemaker, and his sister, Sandy Davis. His legacy of love and resilience lives on through his surviving family: his sons, Joshua Shoemaker, Tanner Shoemaker and wife Kaylan, Skyler Shoemaker and girlfriend Summer Lawrence; his sister, Shelly Shoemaker and husband Charles Ivie; his cherished grandchildren, Kaysen, Tinsley, Raelynn, and Graysen; and his niece, Ashley Shoemaker.
Jeff's life was one of warmth and sincerity, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him, reminding them of the power of kindness, determination, and the importance of family.
