Janith Carol Hensley

Cleveland Janith Carol Hensley, born on June 11, 1945, in Shelby, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Bostic, North Carolina, at the age of 80. With a life rich in love, devotion, and service, Janith left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Janith's journey was one defined by hard work and dedication. For 25 years, she dedicated herself to her work at John Deere in Boiling Springs, NC. She was also a caregiver, sitting with and assisting elderly friends.

Beyond her professional life, Janith's heart was filled with various passions. She loved crafting and found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. She loved going to estate auctions. Anything that was different and unique always caught her eye. She also loved shopping on HSN. This made her happy. She loved to read books and scriptures. She had a strong faith and trust in the Lord. Her greatest joy, however, came from her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.

Janith was known for her sweet, loving, and generous spirit. Her kindness extended to everyone she met, embodying the virtues of a truly selfless soul. She shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Jerry Hensley, until his passing, and now joins him in eternal rest.

Janith is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hensley. Her parents, Wade and Mildred Hamrick, her sister, Julie Hamrick and her great-grandson, Jace Cole. Her legacy continues through those who survive her. Daughters, Jeri Cash(Bill) and Jill Hensley(Myra). Her brother, Richard Hamrick(Teresa) and her grandchildren, Jenna Camp(Jamie), Danny Powell (Lauren), Jilliann Cash(Caleb), Abbi Cash(Cole), and Jackson Cash(Jordyn), Jake Garrett and Walker Lattimore. Great-grandchildren, Jaxx Camp, Jett Camp, Anslee Powell and Cash Clark.She leaves behind a host of family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26th, at 11:00 a.m-1:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby, NC. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC, at 1:30 p.m. to honor and celebrate Janith's life.

Janith Carol Hensley lived a life full of love and grace, inspiring all who knew her. Her legacy of selflessness and affection will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
