SHELBY- Mr. Jack Thomas Fowler Sr., 84, of 1231 N. Lafayette St., died Friday, March 9, 2007 at Hospice at Wendover. He was a native of Cleveland County, and son to the late Tom and Laura McKee Fowler. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a retired supervisor from Esther Mill after 40 years of service. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and an avid golfer and fisherman.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances York Fowler of the home; one son, Tommy Fowler of Shelby; two daughters, Debbie Patterson and her husband Gary of Cherryville; Susan “Suzie” Price and her husband Jody of Forest City; three sisters, Maude Greene and Louise Yelton, both of Shelby, and Margaret “Sis” Ellis of Alabama; six grandchildren, Laura Dunlap and husband Colby of Hickory, B.J. Martin and wife Linsey of Gaffney, SC, Preston Fowler of Archdale, NC, and Steve, Tim, and Austin Price, all of Forest City; and three great-grandchildren, Jayla Martin and Lucas and Lane Dunlap. The family would like to publicly express their sincere thanks to everyone at Hospice of Cleveland County for their great care and kindness.
VISITATION: Sunday (3/11) from 5-6:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: 3:00pm Monday (3/12) at Eastside Baptist Church
LIE-IN-STATE: 30 minutes prior to the service.
BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
