MOORESBORO- Irene Lovelace Byars, 88, died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Burton and Rhodie “Tonie” Goode Lovelace. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, a volunteer with Hospice, and served as president of Young at Hearts senior citizen group.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Byars; daughter, Teresa Byars; one brother; and three sisters.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Ernie Byars of Mooresboro; daughters, Hilda Barnwell and husband Bob of Columbia, SC, and Pam Harris and husband Burel of Shelby; grandchildren, Jeremy Barnwell and wife Amy, Lisa Pierce and husband Greg, Brian Goode and wife Sheri, and Michelle Cook and husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Halle Barnwell, Scott and Samantha Pierce, Donnie and Casey Goode and Emerson Cook

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Saturday, at Trinity Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 6-7:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

CLERGY: Rev. Mike Frazier will officiate

MEMORIALS: Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114
