Illian Moss

SHELBY- Illian Smith Moss, five days away from turning 109, died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late David Chesley and Claudia Lee Royster Smith. She retired after 40 years with the Dover Textile Group, and was a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Moss; brother, David Smith; and sisters, Mary Morrow and Bonnie Lou Smith.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her nieces, Elva Myra, Sara Hudson, and Jubie Bishop; and special friend and caregiver, Reba Davis of Shelby

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Wednesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home

BURIAL: will follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery

CLERGY: Rev. Jim Davidson will officiate
