FOREST CITY- Linda Causby, affectionately known as "Granny," passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, in Shelby, NC, at the age of 84. Born in Cleveland County on September 8, 1942, Granny was a beacon of love and wisdom to everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Granny spent many years working at Cone Mills, where she was known not only for her dedication but also for her straightforward, honest manner. She never hesitated to tell you how it was, and her candidness was both refreshing and inspiring to those around her.

Her life was filled with simple joys and profound loves. An avid reader, she found great pleasure in the works of her favorite author, James Patterson. Every night, she would find solace and strength in reading her Bible, drawing from its pages the guidance that shaped her life.

Above all else, Granny cherished her family. Her grands, great-grands, and great-great-grands were her world, and she loved them fiercely. Her legacy lives on in her surviving family: her daughters Kim Bowles and her husband Jessie, and Sherry Causby; her sister Kathy Cooke and her husband Max; her grandchildren Brian Marks and his wife Vickie, Randy Dorsey and his wife Angie, and Bridget Dorsey; her great-grandchildren Brannon (Audrey), Brianna (Alex), Abigail, Noah, and Max (Harley); her great-great-grandchildren Andy, Colton, and Kimber; her niece Amy and husband Kyle; her nephew Phillip; and her great-niece Laney.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harvey and Grace Richards, and her great-great-grandson, Hunter Chance Price.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Granny’s life at a funeral service on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 1 PM, held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with Chaplain Bryan Melton officiating. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Linda "Granny" Causby leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and honesty. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, reminding us to cherish each moment and live our truths courageously.
