Gorman Ray Lail

Shelby-Gorman Ray (Mutt) Lail ,96, of Shelby, NC, a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Purple Heart recipient from the battle of Leyte Gulf, left this world for his heavenly home on March 10th. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Evelyn Lail, and son, Terry (Jake) Lail. He is survived by two sons, Hal Lail of Shelby and Tim Lail (Valerie), three granddaughters, Brandy Lovelace (Andy), Linzy Greene (Dustin), Katrina Lail, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3pm, Tuesday, March 15,2022, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Ware officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
