SHELBY-Gertrude “Granny” Weaver Davis, 78, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Carrie McGinnis Weaver. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and a foster grandparent at Number 3 School.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Davis; and sisters, Nellie McCoy, Eva Clary, and Frances Whitworth.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Smith of Shelby; sons, Mike Davis and wife Karen of Shelby, Eddie Davis and wife, Melissa of Belwood, and Joe Davis of Fo rest City; sister, Pete Humphries; brother, Charles Weaver and wife Sue, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Matthew Ligon, Ashley Greene and husband Brad, Jordan Smith, Kristi Eaker and husband Brandon, Jonathan Davis and Tyler Davis; great-grandchildren, Kinley and Braylynn Davis; special friend and former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Davis of Grover, and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 3pm, Tuesday, at Bethany Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 6-7:30p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: Will follow at Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery

CLERGY: Revs. Scott Hardin and Dale Angel

MEMORIALS: Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150
